Is there anything in your kitchen that you just couldn't do with out or maybe you're going through a phase of absolutely loving a particular a kitchen gadget.? In Drumlin Villa, the phase I'm going through currently is freshly squeezed orange juice - there's no better way to start the day! We were in Athens for our family holiday this year, in a very small Aparthotel. Breakfast was fairly non-descript, apart from the the ability to make fresh orange juice with an industrial juicer made by Frucosol. Just amazing to feed oranges into the chute, watch the oranges being halved, squeezed and juice flowing into your glass! Now, we certainly don't have an industrial juicer in Drumlin Villa (try as I might, I can't persuade Nuala that this is a viable purchase)! However, we do have a small electric juicer (like this one), which does the job very well. Hands-on, tactile but juices oranges. The other thing we have locally is plenty of oranges. The weather on the Algarve is just perfect for growing citrus fruit and you'll find plenty of road side vendors on the N125 selling bags of oranges (maybe 20-25 oranges for €5). Cheap and plentiful. So back to my original question - what would you really like to see in the kitchen of your villa rental? |
